VPS Mesh not aligned with Wayspot

Utilizing an Actived Wayspot within 8thWall the GLB is not centered within the file. The Mash is about 10 m off center. When I open the GLB in Blender it is not at 0, 0, 0. When I scan the Wayspot within Wayfarer to test it never files the scan.

Tested on iOS / Android
Within 8thWall Project and Wayfarer app.

Hi Kyle,

I’ve been informed that the mesh is off because it is in “Wayspot coordinates” rather than being in the coordinate space you’re expecting with (0, 0, 0) representing the beginning of the scan or the origin. In addition, the Geospatial Browser centers the camera on the mesh rather than on the origin of the coordinate system which might be leading to some confusion that your mesh is off-center, too.

The expected use of the downloaded mesh – in its off-center glory – is to allow you to place your content relative to where the system determined your POI is in “Wayspot coordinates” rather than having to localize and complete calculations manually on where you should place your content. Here is an excellent 8th Wall video demonstrating what I’m talking about: https://youtu.be/AY47_A6MsqU?t=176&feature=shared.

Let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns!

Best,
Maverick L.
