I only can make a guess. Since there:s a challenge in Niantic:s Ingress Prime where you’re supposed to perform so called overclock glyph hacks at VPS activated Portals and since introduction the Ingress community didn’t prefer those. As all Portals are based on this database and Ingress players submit there Scan to onlock VPS activation. Since you only can activate the Portals in Wayfarer or directly over here, there will be alot of activation going on these days and server are certainly at limit.
